The
Ecommerce industry is quite challenging South East Asia for any investors or
business owners in the early 2000. It is expected since most of the population
in South East Asia at that time was really low. Most of the online users are
not even owners of a credit card. To make it worse, online transactions are
only considered by a few credit card owners. Given that online frauds and scams
are everywhere online, it's only normal that it's the reaction from the online
market. It's usually harder for online business to get more credibility
compared to traditional offline business. Since in offline business we can deal
face to face, we feel more secure in proceeding with a transaction. Sadly, we
tend to overlook that there are some legit online businesses out there that we
can fully take advantage of. Unlike traditional offline malls that pay rental
fee on their store location, online malls can offer better deals and lower
discounted price of their items.
Moreover,
discounts and promos are easily offered by online malls to make them more
enticing. It's inevitable for any online store offer it since it's their only
weight to make sure customers will choose them over offline malls. Online Malls
like Lazada, ventures available in other countries of South East Asia, is a
good example. The Philippines’ Online Shopping Mall is an online mall that
offered one of the biggest selections in the country similar to what we see
being sold on traditional malls. They introduced Cash on Delivery, which was
offer for the first time by an online store.
Ultimately,
it paved way for them to become one of the key players in the country. They
recently celebrated their first year last April and are already achieving
milestones that no other online store achieved at very short span. Most of
their competitors just showed up upon their arrival last year. It's a clear
sign that the local business people were enlightened by their arrival in the
country. What we can only do is just watch online shopping goes to the next
level. Lazada Online Mall managed to win the local customers with their
unconventional approach. Since Cash on Delivery is available, customers who are
only able to pay online can become customers but anyone who can pay cash as
well. Now almost everybody can order since they allow cash payment, which
increased the numbers of overall market audience for them. Not only that, but
they also free delivery availability as long as the transaction value exceeds
one thousand pesos. They will waive the shipment fee if it exceeds one thousand
mark.
By
combining Free Delivery and Cash on Delivery, it entices customers to pick
online shopping rather than go for traditional shopping. This almost perfect
combination can pretty much convince anyone no matter if they are online
shopping enthusiast or not. As long as online malls provide their potential
customers a level of assurance, on Lazada’s case payment security and
flexibility, then customers can easily jump of to online shopping even for
their first time.
